Yokohama City Library

You may not know it, but Yokohama has a great selection of libraries with many English books.Often books are quite expensive or rare in Japan, so we recommend checking out this library if you are a reader or would like your kids to read more!A library card (Toshokan Card) is required to borrow books. The library card is free for anyone who lives, works, or attends school in Yokohama City. You may borrow up to a total of 10 items (magazines and books) from all branches for 2 weeks. Bring the books to be borrowed with your library card to the Circulation Desk. Each time you borrow a book, a date due receipt will be given to you, indicating the item ID number and the date by which you should return the item to the library.Items borrowed from one branch of Yokohama City Library may be returned at the Circulation Desk of any other branch of Yokohama City Library. Your library card and the receipt are not needed when returning items.

Coffee Tonya

Local roastery Coffee Tonya runs this retail space close to Yokohama’s bustling train station, offering small bags of its own product as well as green beans that DIY roasters can take home. Staff and signage help visitors select the right beans, depending on their preferred origin, brewing method and roasting preference (light to dark), and anyone who picks up a bag also gets a free coffee from the La Marzocco machine in-store. It’s only a small space – the eight or so seats are overwhelmed by the galaxy of beans that fill the shop – but coffee nerds should pop in to peruse the shelves.Go grab some freshly roasted coffee and see if you taste the difference!Google Map > https://goo.gl/maps/zL36NbJ5FYxjDUU39

Dream Drive - Building, selling, and renting campervans.

“Whenever I recall and share childhood stories from growing up in the UK and Australia, they almost always begin with a road trip. I had to ask myself “why? why do most of my most memorable childhood stories begin with a journey, and why have I not been making these memories here in Japan? While working in an office in Tokyo for about 10 years, I came to the realization that many Japanese are traveling and experiencing RV road trips abroad in the United States, Australia, Europe, etc. but not doing so in their own country. Japan is in my opinion one of, if not the best country for free-spirited road trip travel as the roads are safe and there are thousands of clean toilets and onsen all throughout the country. My dream with starting this company was to not only build great campervans but also help put Japan on the global map as a top road trip destination.”
