Standup Paddle Boarding

You may have seen paddle boarders along the Hinodecho river near Sakuragicho or in the bay outside the amusement park and wondered "How Can I do That"?Well good news, we'll show you how!

Stand-up paddleboarding, or SUP, has grown from its humble origins in Hawaii to become an international sport. Yokohama has an SUP scene of its own, with the Yokohama SUP Club, a school educating both beginners and more serious SUP paddlers, and hosting events and a monthly river clean-up.The certified guides and instructors will teach proper form and paddling techniques so you’re not too sore the next day. You’ll stand-up paddle down the Ooka River, which empties into Yokohama Bay, and see famous sightseeing spots like the Landmark Tower and the giant ferris wheel Cosmo Clock 21 along the way.At just 3000 yen for a guided tour down the river, there's no excuse no to get out and explore Yokohama from the water. This includes the paddleboard, lesson, life jacket, insurance and photos!Official Website (Japanese) > https://yokohamasup-club.com/Google Map > https://goo.gl/maps/54znY45CyUdBxKf49

Sorairo Gelato

Looking for some great Gelato in this hot weather to help your walk along the harbour?Look no further than "Sorairo Gelato"!Located right near the entrance to "Osanbashi" at the end of Yamashita park is this quaint Gelato store. You won't miss its bright blue doors and line out the front.Choose from many different flavors including espresso, blueberries & yogurt, lemon sorbet, and of course chocolate and vanilla favorites. Our recommendation is to pair your gelato with an iced coffee at just 300 yen.Sizes range from 500 yen to 600 yen and you can choose 2 flavors per cone.Location is key for this store, and once you've secured your gelato, take a stroll along Yamashita park and enjoy the views.Instagram > https://www.instagram.com/sorairo_gelatoGoogle Map > https://goo.gl/maps/EF67P1oEkiEVwKY19

Tanabata Summer Matsuri

In its 70th year, Hiratsuka’s Tanabata is the biggest in the Kanto region, attracting around 1.7m visitors over the three days of the festival. The colourful festivities will be centered around the shopping street on the north side of Hiratsuka station. The official event will continue until 9pm on Friday and Saturday and until 8pm on Sunday. The main venue, "Shonan Star Mall," in particular, is filled with gorgeous decorations. Some of the decorations are over 10 meters in length, and the most popular ones include those of active sports players, popular animals, characters, and other fashionable decorations. During the festival, Tanabata decoration contests, parades, and various other events are held, and the festival has developed into one of Japan's representative summer festivals. The Shonan Hiratsuka weaving princesses, selected through a selection procession, make the festival even more exciting with parades, city visits, and various other events during the Tanabata Matsuri period.Official Website (Japanese) > https://www.tanabata-hiratsuka.comGoogle Map > https://goo.gl/maps/iRCvTw5TZpC6ehKY7

Dream Drive - Building, selling, and renting campervans.

“Whenever I recall and share childhood stories from growing up in the UK and Australia, they almost always begin with a road trip. I had to ask myself “why? why do most of my most memorable childhood stories begin with a journey, and why have I not been making these memories here in Japan? While working in an office in Tokyo for about 10 years, I came to the realization that many Japanese are traveling and experiencing RV road trips abroad in the United States, Australia, Europe, etc. but not doing so in their own country. Japan is in my opinion one of, if not the best country for free-spirited road trip travel as the roads are safe and there are thousands of clean toilets and onsen all throughout the country. My dream with starting this company was to not only build great campervans but also help put Japan on the global map as a top road trip destination.”
