Kanagawa Tabiwari Discounts Extended

On July 14, Kanagawa Prefecture announced that it will extend until August 31 the "Kanagawa Travel Discount" program, which subsidizes a portion of travel expenses, to support tourism businesses severely affected by the spread of the new coronavirus and to stimulate the local economy. This is Kanagawa Prefecture's own measure to stimulate tourism demand, and was implemented with support from the government for regional tourism projects.The subsidy consists of a discount on the trip price and a "Kanagawa Tabi-wari Coupon," a regional coupon. If the travel price is 10,000 yen or more, a 5,000 yen discount and a regional coupon worth 2,000 yen will be given; if the price is 6,000 yen or more, a 3,000 yen discount and a regional coupon worth 2,000 yen will be given; and if the price is 3,000 yen or more, a 1,500 yen discount and a regional coupon worth 1,000 yen will be given. The coupons can be used at restaurants, souvenir stores, etc. within the prefecture during the travel period. When using the discounted products, a vaccination certificate or negative proof of vaccination must be confirmed. Vaccination certificate is a requirement for at least three vaccinations.
